  • SLEEPOVER SUCCESS!

    Sat 12 Mar 2016

    WHAT A NIGHT!

Y1, 2 and 3 had a super sleepover at school. After the torch lit peg hunt - lots of fun! - they played Lion Hunt and the Star Game before having supper and into pyjamas. They then loved the showing of Up!, though some of them had to give up and go to bed. There followed a mass bedtime and by ..... errr.. just after 11pm ..... they were all asleep. Maybe not the staff! The first children woke at just after 5:30am (what joy) and at 6:30 they had transferred sleeping bags to Class 3 to watch Horrid Henry. A magnificent breakfast was provided by some rather tired staff before we had a mass tidy-up and waited for parents to collect their (almost) rested off-spring.

The children were fantastic together, and took the night away from home in their stride. They all helped each other and there were no fallings out.

Now we're just looking forward to next year .... or the staff think perhaps the year after that!

  • Snow Day Fun

    Fri 04 Mar 2016

    Friday the Snow Day!

Staff and children braved the weather to enjoy a creative day in school. With just three teachers, the children spent the day enjoying activities in mixed age groups. The older children were fantastic helping with the younger children, especially when it came to getting changed to go out to play - IN THE SNOW!

Our heroic lunchtime staff all made it in, and we had a delicious hot meal to give us the energy for another round of fun in the afternoon. There were lots of team building activities and we will remember our 'Snow Day' for a long time.

    Young Voices

Y5 and Y4 performed in a mass children's choir of over 7800 at the Manchester Arena on Thursday 3rd March. It was a long day, with a packed lunch and a packed tea and over three hours of rehearsing before the concert. The Arena was packed and the atmosphere was electric. We watched Urban Strides, a fantastic street dance group, and sang with Laura White and Alexandra Burke. Our parents in the audience were bowled over by the stunning performances, and, as always, the children were excellent ambassadors for the school. A fantastic experience and event for us all!
