  • County Champions at Cyclocross!

    Mon 13 Jul 2015 L Moore
Our fantastic bike team has gone all the way to the top in its first year. Carl and Edith formed the club after a cyclocross event in Buxton last summer, and have been working with dedication to train our team. The team have performed well in local events, winning our regional championships, which gave them the slot to compete in the county finals. On July 8th, the team and their supporters travelled to Derby for an exciting end to the season. They rode brilliantly, and their Italian pursuit was 'like a well-oiled machine'. In points, they drew in finals with two other schools, so the final outcome was decided on the time taken to complete the Italian pursuit - and Buxworth were the fastest! There was great excitement, and a handsome trophy as well as superb individual medals. One of the smallest schools in the county has taken one of the major prizes. We are so proud of our team and their coaches. It must onwards and upwards!
