Everyone had a super week at school this week. Our focus text was The Smartest Giant in Town which we used to inspire all of our writing. We looked at and described The Giant and wrote our own sentences using describing words. We had a think about different clothes and accessories that could be used as things for animals and came up some wonderful ideas such as an umberella being a ferris wheel and a headband being a slide.smiley

we continued our learning about plants and learnt to name all of the different parts. The children acted out the parts by making shapes with their bodies and then they worked together to make a whole plant using body shapes. Great job Little Conkers.

On many occasions the children showed their love of reading by  just getting a picture book and sitting down to enjoy it- in the morning when they first came in, after they had finsihed their work job or in the middle of their choosing time. Sometimes in the middle of a pile of materials they had got out to make into something or when four children climb on to the rocking chair to all sit closely together to share the same book ! They showed how reading can happen and be enjoyed anywhere.
