This week our focus text was The Gruffalo which the children loved.

We developed our describing language and described what he looked like but also how he behaved. we talked about feelings and how we knew what he and the other characters were feeling.

We made a fantastic huge Gruffalo that is on display by the lift downstairs; please go and look at it. The children added their wonderful writing to describe him.

As the story is set in a woodland environment we learned about woodland habitats and which animals would live in them. We went outside to The Forest School area to explore and look for habitats and we collected things to bring back and make habitats for us to look at. To further enhance these the children made salt dough animals of the animals that would live there.

On Thursday we all made Gruffalo Crumble which we loved eating.

And of course, this week, we all had a wonderful time at our Sports Day. Everyone tried so hard and was brilliant.
