Latest Update with regards to the wider opening of schools for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 children

Dear Parents,

As always, I wanted to keep you up to date with the latest advice that has been given to me with regards to the wider opening of schools to pupils other than key workers' children.

Last night I received the latest advice from Derbyshire County Council and I wanted to give you advance notice that the proposed implementation of the wider opening of schools from Year Groups: Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 may well be delayed past the initial proposed date of June the 1st.

This is currently what the situation is looking like at present, however there will be continued consultation between Derbyshire County Council and The Department of Education .

I will hopefully know more early next week, but thought it was important to let you know as soon as possible that there may be a delay in the start date of rolling out the Year groups. Therefore, allowing you to at least plan some contingency with regards to your work, child care etc, if in such a case that a delay is confirmed.

I will strive to get more information over the weekend. Hopefully, by early next week I will be given a clearer picture of the road map in getting all our children back into education safely with the minimum amount of risk.  I will of course continue to endeavour to keep you up to date with the latest information.

I am hoping you enjoy a relaxing bank holiday weekend and have a lovely half term.

Best Wishes
Paul Bertram
