Week 3
The children had another wonderful week enjoying lots of lovely learning and developing their senses of selves.
I love this time of year when I see all of their learning falling into place.
This week I was so proud of them all.
in Maths we were working on numbers to 20 and showing our understanding of the value of each number. The children showed they could count to 20 and beyond easily, recognise the numbers, order them and they are starting to understand how to partition them into 10 and so many more. We used lots of counting on from 10 to say how many they could see.
In English they are ALL sounding out and segmenting words themselves. On Friday they did some amazing writing on our text for the week George, The Dragon and The Princess. Well done Little Conkers.
They have enjoyed lots of learning about castles and learnt what life would be like as a child in medieval times. They were not very taken and much prefer life today. Sleeping on the floor on straw mattresses was a very unpopular idea.
Lots of children have loved decorating the castles they have made and also learning to weave.
And of course they have all enjoyed lots of choosing time.
