7.3.22

This week the children finished off their learning about snails by making a snail habitat and then going on a hut for snails and slugs in the Forest School area. They enjoyed looking under rocks, logs and in digging in the mud. They were helped by some very kind Year 6 children who were enjoying their Forest School session.  Back in school we made some snail soup by squishing lots of lettuce up and mixing water. We fed this to our snails to make sure they had food to eat.  We also made our own food by making snail biscuits.... yummy .

We went on to learn about ladybirds and beetles. The children learnt lots of facts and did some wonderful fact file writing; they painted pictures, put the life cycle in order and completed numberbond to 10 ladybird books.

In Maths our focus was on using numberbonds to 10 to subtract. Everyone was brilliant at using the part whole model to act out the subtraction  maths stories. Lots of children wrote the number sentences too.

In P.E we continued our learning on throwing and catching. The children learnt how to do under arm, shoulder, bounce and over head throws.

We all had a great week. Well done Little Conkers; you were superb.
