This week we learnt all abot Chiese New Year. The children enjoyed learning the Chinese Zodiac story and the race. They loved acting it out and playing it. They furthered their understanding and learning in the continuous provision enjoying activities such as making a dragon, as it is year of the dragon, writing Chinese numbers, painting pictures, playing the story, completing Zodiac animal counting and more.
In Maths they learnt to measure begining by comparing lengths and using comparative laguage such as longer, longest, shorter, shortest, taller and tallest. They then began to measure length using cubes.
In their phonics we worked on the sounds ai, and ee and in the writing we wrote lists of the animals from the Zodiac story and we wrote what happened in it.
