This week the children started their phonics learning by making listening ears to help them focus on individual sounds. They all went on walks inside school and outside to identify the sounds they could hear They heard lots of different things including a plane, cars, birds, the river, children clappng, a teacher talking, a computer tapping and the a video sound playing. Everyone was able to tell me what they heard and they drew pictures to show each thing.

In Maths we spent time learning to count out up to 3 objects, everyone did this and collected up to 3 leaves. Then we took our learning further and showed numbers up to 10. Well done Little Conkers on  great Maths work.

In our topic work we learnt about our bodies- naming different body parts and understanding what we use them for. We enjoyed songs like Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, and Tommy Thumb.

On Wednesday we learnt that we have 5 super powers - our senses and we learnt what they were. Everyone enjoyed using their sense of hearing to identify different sounds behind the buttons. Lots of the sounds made us laugh.

We also enjoyed lots of stories and learnt many new words including delighted, feast,  senses, wise and enchanted.

Well done Little Conkers on a great week.
