This week the children learnt lots about The Earth. They were so interested and recalled so much. By the end of the week they could tell me, and wrote down,  physical things The Earth has that makes it special such as water, land, clouds, an atmosphere, mountains, animals and people. They did some AMAZING sounding out to write sentences about it. Following on from this they learnt how we have an atmosphere and what it does and also about The Water Cycle and how that works!!!! 

They painted some brilliant pictures of The Water Cycle and made absolutely fantastic collages of The Earth. 

In Phonics we started learning the 2 letter sounds. We  learnt qu, sh and ch and used them to write lots of words. As always we enjoyed listening to the phase 2 tricky word song and started to listen to the Phase 3 one too.

In Maths we compared numbers to 10 and worked out which was bigger, smaller, fewer or more than. We also started to find the difference between 2 numbers by counting on. 

As ever, the children loved P.E where they were continuing to develop their core body control and body management by using lots of pieces of equipment.
