Wednesday 13th January
Good morning Sycamore class.
Here are the activities I would like you to complete today – Wednesday 13th January.
You can choose what order you do the activities in, but we suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail photos of your work to me each day if you want.
For today’s lesson, click on the link entitled Monster Pizza Instructions 3. Today you will be planning the ingredients for a pizza perfect for a monster! When you have finished, I would love to see your own monster design. Will it look like the one in the lesson? Or will it be different? Think about what shape it will be, how many eyes it will have, what colour it will be, and how many legs it will have to get you started. Save your pictures to show me later!
It’s test day! Mrs Brammer will test you on your spellings during the morning Zoom lesson. Listen carefully to the group you are in so you know which words you need to write down. After the lesson, you can ask an adult to mark them and tell us your scores during the afternoon Zoom lesson. Below, you will find the new rule for your new spellings.
This afternoon we will be looking at some geography. Watch the ‘New Dinosaur’ Video in the resources section. It is all about a new species of Dinosaur that was found in South Africa (a link to our ‘On Safari’ Topic) Now, being an archaeologist and also having family in South Africa, I was lucky enough to visit the place where this dino fossil was found. Once you have watched the video, ope up the ‘Dinosaurs in Africa’ activity sheet. You have to use an atlas, a map or the internet to help you identify the countries of Africa where all the dinosuars on the sheet have been found. On the map of Africa, write the number of the dinosaur (from the table) on the correct African Country.
5) PE Wednesday
Forest School - Today, Miss Quick and I would like you to take a trip outside; that could be into the garden if you have one or go for a walk with your family (it doesn’t matter if this is out of school time). Whilst you’re out and about, try to find some natural objects such as leaves and twigs. When you get home, make an environmental picture using the items your found – can you turn your items in to an animal? A building? Send me a photograph of what you’ve made.
