Tuesday 26th January
Good morning Sycamore class.
Here are the activities I would like you to complete today.
I suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail photos of your work to me each day if you want.
Today’s lesson is all about complex sentences and subordinate clauses – a super feature of Year 3/4 writing! This is a tricky subject so listen carefully and Ms Johnson will talk you through what you need to do. If you find any of the tasks hard, carry on watching and the answers will be explained.
Here is a link to your lesson:
I have also put an optional powerpoint all about subordinate clauses in the resources below. If you need a little more help understanding subordinate clauses, read through the powerpoint. You may want to ask a grown up or older sibling to read it with you.
Let’s get practising! Tomorrow is test day so I want you to practise your spellings in your favourite way. Will you draw a picture of your word or use colours to write them in a rainbow pattern? Can you put your words into a sentence? Can you write them in alphabetical order?
Today we will be learning all about tone and shading. Open up the Tone and Shading’ presentation and read the explanation. Then, open up ‘Tone and Shading activity’ and ‘Tone and Shading activity 2’ Work your way through each, paying attention to how heavy you’re pressing on your pencil. You can do this activity with a normal writing pencil, special art pencils or even a pencil crayon. It doesn’t work with a felt tip though.
5) Yoga Quest
Fantastic! We made it to the end of Shark’s Bay! Our next adventure takes us across Desert Gorge. Don't forget to tick off the places you have visited so far, you will find your new map in the resources section.
