Here are the activities we would like you to complete today. You can choose what order you do the activities in, but we suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail a copy to us each day.
Today is my favourite day because you finally get to write your instructions and you know how excited I get about writing! Ms Bourke is going to work through the instructions with you step by step in a way that is really easy to follow. Use the Monster Pizza Instructions proforma as a template to write on, but don’t be afraid to add more detail if you can! I can’t wait to read them! Click on Monster Pizza Instructions 7 to get started.
We have learnt how to add using the column method, now let's look at subtracting using the column method.
You will need to access the online dienes blocks (base 10) to help you in this lesson. https://mathsbot.com/manipulatives/blocks
Let’s get practising! Tomorrow is test day, so I want you to practise your spellings in your favourite way. Will you draw a picture of your word or use colours to write them in a rainbow pattern? Can you put your words into a sentence? Can you write them in alphabetical order?
Today is the day to create your own 3D robot. You can use items from your recycling, craft items, Lego, building blocks, items from the shed (ask permission first though!) or just card, paper and glue. It’s up to you. Make sure you draw a picture of what you want to make first (or use the one from yesterday). After that, build away until you have a completed robot. Take a picture and send it to me. When you are finished, have a think about one thing you are pleased with and one thing you think you could do better next time. I will be asking you to report back on Zoom later!
5) PE & Forest School
Click on the ‘Winter Bird feeder’ activity in the resources below. During Lockdown one, many of you made bird feeders and they were a great success so let’s get feeding those birds, especially this week during the RSPB Bird Spotting Week.
