Thursday 4th February
Good morning Sycamore class.
Here are the activities I would like you to complete today.
I suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail photos of your work to me each day if you want.
It’s now time to write the second part of your build-up. Again, watch the video to see how Ms Johnson writes her paragraphs and then have a go yourself. See if you can also include a question in your writing today.
Here is the link to you lesson:
1. Spend about 15 minutes on TT Rock Stars. (If you’d like your table changing, let me know via email)
2. Open up the ‘Mental Maths’ activity from the resource section below.
3. Today there is no video I’m afraid. Instead, you’ll be working on solving problems with one step. Open the ‘Multiplication problems (one step)’ from the resource section below and solve them using any of the methods you’ve learnt this week.
Today we are getting slimy with some more chemistry. Yes, that’s right, you’re going to be making your own slime (sorry to all the adults at home with you). Open up the ‘Slime’ activity sheet in the resource section below and follow the instructions. Think about whether your slime is a solid or a liquid – what do you think? What properties of solids and liquids does it have? Fill in the ‘Slime Results’ sheet with your thoughts.
5) Children’s Mental Health Week
Let’s look at your happy place. Having a happy place is a great thing to imagine if you’re feeling anxious, worried, sad or overwhelmed. It’s also good to remember your happy place when you’re feeling positive too. Open up the ‘My Happy Place’ activity from the resource section and fill in the sections.
