Thursday 28th

Thursday 28th January

Good morning Sycamore class.

Here are the activities I would like you to complete today.

suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail photos of your work to me each day if you want.

1) English

Today’s lesson is all about interesting words that we might associate with sadness. You will be learning 3 new words and writing a sentence using each of them. I would love to hear one of your sentences later on Zoom!

Here is the link to your lesson:

2) Maths

  1. Log on to TT Rock Stars and spend 5-10 minutes on your tables. They are set for all tables up to 12x12 as you should know these off by heart by the end of Y4.
  2. Open up the ‘Times tables’ resource below and answer the questions. Ask an adult to mark them and I will collect the answers this afternoon.
  3. Open up the Oak Academy video and follow it with Mr Crichlow – remember, you can speed up or slow down the video if he’s talking to  slow or too fast for you.  The 100 square activity can be found in the resource section below.

3) Spellings

Use your spelling patterns and rules to find all your spellings hidden in the word search.

4) Topic

Today is all about your inner self and I’d like you to create a self-portrait but with a twist. Open up the ‘Inner Self Portrait’ activity below (alternatively, you can simply draw this on a piece of plain paper). On one side of the face draw half your portrait and on the other side, make a face based on the things you like to do and items that explain your personality. The second page of the activity sheet gives you an example – I love how they have used a tent for an eye.

5) Yoga Quest

Let's embark on our second adventure across the Desert Gorge to meet Sheriff Updown the Rabbit.
