Good Morning Hawthorn Class!
Here are today's activities for you to complete...
As always, you can choose what order you do the activities in, but we suggest trying to do the Comprehension, Writing and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Let us know if you have any problems with this. Don't forget to save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail a copy to us each day.
To finish off our work about non-chronological reports, I'd like you to read the non-chronological report about Pirates. Then answer the questions on the sheet. I have based the questions on the hardest version of the text (page 3 and 4), so if you have a grown-up who can read with you, share the text together (you can listen to your grown-up read the text if you would like to) and then see if you can find the answers by yourself. If you are working alone and want to read page 1 or 2 instead, you can still answer the questions about those versions.
Adding or subtract a 1-digit number to/from a 3-digit number - lesson 2. This lesson teaches you how to add single digit numbers that cross the tens boundary. Follow the presentation and try and answer the questions before you see the answers. Then have a go at the worksheet.
Time to learn your new spellings. Follow the PowerPoint which explains your new spelling rule. Can you spell any of them already? Which ones do you need to focus more on? Have a go at the word search and the handwriting sheet for your spellings.
Let's find out about the characteristics of the oceans. Follow the PowerPoint and read through the information - ask an adult to help with any tricky words. Once you have read the information, create a poster or an information leaflet about the characteristics of the 5 different oceans.
5) PE with Joe!
