Thursday 21st

Thursday 21th January

Good morning Sycamore class.

Here are the activities I would like you to complete today.

Do the activities in any order, but I suggest trying to do the English and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Please save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail photos of your work to me each day if you want.

1) English

In today’s lesson you will designing an invitation asking monster friends to come to your pizza party! Follow the lesson instructions before you have a go. You could make your invitation on plain paper and then decorate it with patterns or pictures. Try to make it look bright and exciting! Click on Monster Pizza Instructions 8 to get started.

2) Maths

  1. Log on to TT Rock Stars and spend 5-10 minutes on your tables. They are set for all tables up to 12x12 as you should know these off by heart by the end of Y4.
  2. Open up the ‘Times tables’ resource below and answer the questions. Ask an adult to mark them and I will collect the answers this afternoon.
  3. Open up the ‘Mental Maths Activity’ from the resource section below and answer the questions on there. If you struggle, ask an adult to help you.

3) Spellings

Have a go at the spelling activity below to practise your spellings.

4) Topic

Let’s do some coding. When we code, we’re actually controlling an online robot.

  1. Click the link to open up ‘Hour of Code’
  2. Click ‘start’ in the Dance party Tab.
  3. Click the x in the right hand corner of any video that pops up. You can watch them if you want as they are about coding but it’s not necessary.
  4. Use the drop down menu to add your age and then follow the instuctions on the screen.
  5. Once you have done each level, you click ‘Run’ on the left hand side and it will progress you onto the next level once the action is complete. How many levels can you complete?

5) PE and Forest School

Today’s forest school is about you sketching something environmental. Grab a pencil and some paper, wrap up warm and take a seat outside (or you could sit next to a window and look out if it’s easier) Once you are ready, look around you and find something interesting to draw. Try to use a whole piece of paper to create a still life piece of art – if you want to colour it you can, but you don’t have to. I’d love to see some of your pictures.

6) Yoga Quest

We have made it to the final journey in Shark's Bay. The last sea creature we will meet is Nibs the octopus. Come back next week as we embark on a new adventure through a new land.
