Friday 11th December
Well done to Ethan, our Reader of the Week, for giving 100% effort with reading this week.
Seba has been awarded a Silver for his fantastic, independent writing.
For four weeks in a row, Finnley has achieved 10/10 in his spelling tests. Excellent work Finnley, a well deserved Silver.
Friday 20th November and Friday 27th November
A huge well done to everyone over the last two weeks - you all deserve a Silver Award! We are super proud of how well you have adapted to the home learning and how much hard work you have all put in.
Reader of the Week goes to Harry! Everyday, Harry completes all three reading comprehensions as well as all the other work we set. Incredible work Harry - well done!
We will take our awards picture when we are back together again.
Friday 13th November
This week, our focus for Project 25 was ‘friendship’. Leyton and Sam always show kindness to others and never leave anyone out. They are a great friend to everyone.
Ada is our Reader of the Week for her fantastic reading to the whole class. She was very confident and the children listened attentively from beginning to end.
Friday 6th November
Well done to Ethan and Edward for their Silver awards. Ethan has worked very hard since coming back and has shown an increased level of concentration. Edward demonstrated excellent map reading skills and used an Atlas to locate the continents and oceans.
Clara is our reader of the week for her fantastic comprehension skills.
Thursday 22nd October
This week we have 3 children for our Silver awards for writing a fantastic fable. Clara, Mirabelle and Finnley all tried their absolute best and included everything I had asked for.
For her enthusiasm for reading, Sienna is our reader of the week. Well done everyone!
Friday 16th October
A huge well done to Sienna and Leyton who won our Silver awards. Leyton always comes into school with a smile and a positive attitude while Sienna always tries her best and perseveres when lessons get tricky.
Ada is our reader of the week. She can explain what a non-fiction book is and explain the features. She uses the contents page to find the section she wants to read. Well done Ada!
Friday 9th October
Congratulations to Ethan, our reader of the week! Over the past few weeks, he has become more fluent in his reading and has been flying through his books. This week, he moved up a stage.
Mirabelle received a Silver award this week for creating a fantastic African Ndebele house. She listened very well to instructions and she made sure she used bright African colours for her design.
Gracie deserved our second Silver award this week for always being a kind, considerate and helpful member of the class.
Friday 2nd October
Our two Silver’s this week, are awarded to Sam and Jacob who both work incredibly hard, stay focused on the task in hand and persevere right until the very end of the lesson. Well done boys!
Our Reader of the Week has been trying really hard with his reading and is enthusiastic to read independently as well as to an adult.
Friday 25th September
Mirabelle is our Reader of the Week! She is a confident, fluent reader and has just become a free reader!
Clara deserves our Silver award this week for her continuous, positive attitude to learning. She always listens to instructions and finishes her work. Harlie has been given a Silver award for being an incredible helper to others and for being helpful around the classroom.
Friday 18th September
Well done to Harry and Lacey for their Silver awards! They both come to school each morning with a positive attitude, ready to learn and give 100% in everything they do.
Gracie is our reader of the week, this week. Over the past couple of weeks, she has developed an enthusiasm for reading. She reads every day to an adult, every day to herself and excitedly tells us when she had read at home. Well done Gracie!
Friday 11th September
Last week, we welcomed Ada and Finnley into the Hawthorn family. They have been very brave and have adapted brilliantly to a new school and a new way of learning. They have made lots of new friends within the class and have participated in lessons. Well done on your Silver awards!
Congratulations to Edward, our reader of the week! For his school reading book, he chose a non-fiction book all about World War Two. Edward blew me away with his confidence when reading tricky words such as: 'artillery', 'cavalry' and 'infantry'.
