Silver Awards

Friday 16th July

Edward won a Silver Award for writing an excellent set of instructions. Well done to Lacey who won a Silver for always thinking of others and for her kind nature. Well done to Harry who has made excellent progress in reading and achieved Reader of the Week! 

All year round, the children have been working incredibly hard to win dojo points for their house teams. A huge well done to Mount Blanc who are the overall winners!


Friday 9th July

We are super proud of the 6 children who have spent the last 10 days home learning - they all deserve a Silver Award. Well done Leyton, Sienna, Ada, Seba, Gracie and Lacey!

Friday 2nd July

Clara won a Silver award and reader of the week this week for her exceptional progress in reading. 
Harlie has won her Silver award for becoming a super, independent learner. Well done girls! 
We would also like to give everyone who is learning from home a Silver award as well for their perseverance and resilience. Good job everyone! 

Friday 25th June 

Well done to our Silvers this week and our Reader of the week. Ethan has shown compassion and kindness to others, and he’s always willing to help. Seba has made great efforts in his writing recently. Finally, Charlie has been really enthusiastic about reading, especially Beast Quest. 

Friday 18th June

We are so proud of Sienna this week. Despite breaking her elbow, she has worked incredibly hard and showed bravery and resilience at school. Lacey and Leyton have both been working hard on their reading and have been noticed by several members of staff for their hard work and progress. They both earned 'Reader of the Week' as well as Silver awards. Well done to all three of you!

Friday 11th June 

This week, we designed our own chocolate lands and described them using our senses, expanded noun phrases and prepositions. Everyone did an incredible job. Ada won a Silver award for her positive contribution to the lessons and her descriptive writing. Ethan won his Silver for his effort in writing and for his super joined up handwriting.

Well done to Jacob who is our reader of the week! 

Friday 21st May 

Harry and Sienna worked incredibly hard together to create a non-chronological report all about children during Ancient Egyptian times. They shared the responsibility and demonstrated super team work. Well done on your Silver awards!

Our reader of the week is Clara for connecting with her story and expressing her feelings over the ending. 

Friday 14th May

Well done to our Silver Awards this week! Ada for always being so kind and helpful and for the boys who demonstrated excellent teamwork during our Ancient Egyptian Day (Seba, Jacob, Sam and Edward). 
For her effort and hard work in reading, Gracie is our Reader of the Week! 

Friday 7th May

We've had a great day for awards! Harlie received a Silver for her thoughtful and caring personality. Sam was chosen for a Silver because he has been a brilliant mathematician this week, answering lots of questions and working hard. Edward is our Reader of Week for his brilliant comprehension skills.

Well done to everyone for contributing to Number Day. Clara and Sam won best dressed! Everyone's outfits looked amazing so it was very hard to choose the two best dressed. 

Friday 30th April

It’s a double whammy this week for Finnley! He won a Silver award and Reader of the Week for his excellent comprehension skills and for being the most improved handwriter. Harry also won a Silver award for his improved handwriting. Well done boys! 

Friday 23rd April

Well done to Sienna and Leyton for their Silver awards this week. Sienna's work is always presented to a high standard and her handwriting is beautifully joined. Leyton has worked incredibly hard since coming back after Easter and has shown excellent listening skills.

Friday 26th March

Well done to Ethan for his hard work this week and getting 10/10 in his spelling test. And for his concentration and focus during the reading assessment, Ethan is our Reader of the Week.

Edward has won a Silver award for his fantastic times tables knowledge and for getting 13/13 every week in the times tables test. 

Friday 19th March

Congratulations to Kai and Charlie for their Silver awards this week.

Friday 12th March

Well done to Seba, Gracie, Sam and Sienna for their Silver awards this week. They have all come back to school with a super, positive attitude.


Friday 11th December

Well done to Ethan, our Reader of the Week, for giving 100% effort with reading this week.

Seba has been awarded a Silver for his fantastic, independent writing. 

For four weeks in a row, Finnley has achieved 10/10 in his spelling tests. Excellent work Finnley, a well deserved Silver. 

Friday 20th November and Friday 27th November

A huge well done to everyone over the last two weeks - you all deserve a Silver Award! We are super proud of how well you have adapted to the home learning and how much hard work you have all put in.

Reader of the Week goes to Harry! Everyday, Harry completes all three reading comprehensions as well as all the other work we set. Incredible work Harry - well done!

We will take our awards picture when we are back together again.  

Friday 13th November

This week, our focus for Project 25 was ‘friendship’. Leyton and Sam always show kindness to others and never leave anyone out. They are a great friend to everyone. 
Ada is our Reader of the Week for her fantastic reading to the whole class. She was very confident and the children listened attentively from beginning to end. 

Friday 6th November

Well done to Ethan and Edward for their Silver awards. Ethan has worked very hard since coming back and has shown an increased level of concentration. Edward demonstrated excellent map reading skills and used an Atlas to locate the continents and oceans. 

Clara is our reader of the week for her fantastic comprehension skills. 

Thursday 22nd October

This week we have 3 children for our Silver awards for writing a fantastic fable. Clara, Mirabelle and Finnley all tried their absolute best and included everything I had asked for. 

For her enthusiasm for reading, Sienna is our reader of the week. Well done everyone!

Friday 16th October 

A huge well done to Sienna and Leyton who won our Silver awards.  Leyton always comes into school with a smile and a positive attitude while Sienna always tries her best and perseveres when lessons get tricky. 

Ada is our reader of the week. She can explain what a non-fiction book is and explain the features. She uses the contents page to find the section she wants to read. Well done Ada!

Friday 9th October 

Congratulations to Ethan, our reader of the week! Over the past few weeks, he has become more fluent in his reading and has been flying through his books. This week, he moved up a stage. 
Mirabelle received a Silver award this week for creating a fantastic African Ndebele house. She listened very well to instructions and she made sure she used bright African colours for her design. 
Gracie deserved our second Silver award this week for always being a kind, considerate and helpful member of the class. 

Friday 2nd October

Our two Silver’s this week, are awarded to Sam and Jacob who both work incredibly hard, stay focused on the task in hand and persevere right until the very end of the lesson. Well done boys!

Our Reader of the Week has been trying really hard with his reading and is enthusiastic to read independently as well as to an adult. 

Friday 25th September

Mirabelle is our Reader of the Week! She is a confident, fluent reader and has just become a free reader!

Clara deserves our Silver award this week for her continuous, positive attitude to learning. She always listens to instructions and finishes her work. Harlie has been given a Silver award for being an incredible helper to others and for being helpful around the classroom. 

Friday 18th September

Well done to Harry and Lacey for their Silver awards! They both come to school each morning with a positive attitude, ready to learn and give 100% in everything they do. 

Gracie is our reader of the week, this week. Over the past couple of weeks, she has developed an enthusiasm for reading. She reads every day to an adult, every day to herself and excitedly tells us when she had read at home. Well done Gracie!

Friday 11th September

Last week, we welcomed Ada and Finnley into the Hawthorn family. They have been very brave and have adapted brilliantly to a new school and a new way of learning. They have made lots of new friends within the class and have participated in lessons. Well done on your Silver awards!

Congratulations to Edward, our reader of the week! For his school reading book, he chose a non-fiction book all about World War Two. Edward blew me away with his confidence when reading tricky words such as: 'artillery', 'cavalry' and 'infantry'.
