Physical Development, Health and Wellbeing

Do you sometimes ask questions that don't seem to have an answer?

  • Should we try to get the maximum amount of food from the land? Does it matter how that is achieved?
  • Can you make any difference to something which is happening on the other side of the world?
  • Why should it matter to you what happens to other people?
  • Is it important how you live your life? If you want to waste things, or to leave litter, or just ‘do your own thing’, why shouldn’t you?
  • In what ways do you see yourself as part of the ‘family of mankind’?

There are some more questions here.   Do these questions h‚Äčave answers?mail

Through the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education we learn about, and from, religions and beliefs in the world.

The principal aim of R.E in school is to enable pupils to participate fully in an ongoing search for knowledge and understanding, in the light of questions raised by human experience and answers offered by religions and the beliefs of people of Derbyshire and the wider community, so as to promote their personal development.

Children in each of the key stages follow different curriculums details of which can be viewed by accessing the following link to the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

Physical Development

At Buxworth Primary School, we celebrate our physical development with a progressive curriculum that extends our skills. PAS deliver coaching in games, all pupils have the opportunity to take part in local sporting competitions, and we have an extensive range of extra-curricular clubs. Staff join pupils in local parkrun, and parents join in with the long run club! Whilst we enjoy taking part, we do aim, to win and had a fantastic year last year, becoming County Cyclo-Cross Champions. A pupil also achieved the Derbyshire Primary School Sportsperson of the Year 2015. We have made a good start this year, winning Y5/6 girl's football and Y3/4 mixed football. We are growing the champions of the future!
