Good Morning Hawthorn Class!
As always, you can choose what order you do the activities in, but we suggest trying to do the Comprehension, Writing and Maths in the morning. You can print the work if you want to or you can read from the screen and answer on paper. Let us know if you have any problems with this. Don't forget to save anything you do to bring into school once we are back so we can have a look at it. You can also ask your grown-ups to e-mail a copy to us each day.
Read the sea creatures fact cards and then use them to answer the questions. You can then check your answers to see how you did. If you want a little more challenge, can you think of 3 of your own questions about the sea creatures? Ask a grown up your questions and see if they can answer them using the information on the fact cards.
Now it’s your turn to practise writing a non-chronological report. We will be having another go in school next week, so this is your chance to practise! Today you need to choose your sea creature. Draw a picture of your made up sea creature and label it with some expanded noun phrases, just like I did on my Octoclaws design last week (see Wednesday 18th November's Home Learning for my example). I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with during our zoom chat later.
After all our hard work this term, we have come to the end of our Place Value unit in our Power Maths books. Play some of the games to refresh your memory then complete the end of unit check. Try to do this independently so we can see what you have learnt this term.
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/place-value-basketball - select numbers up to 999.
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/coconut-ordering - select up to 1000.
http://ictgames.com/rangeArranger/ - adjust the hexagons to 1000.
https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/37/placing_numbers_on_a_number_line - try different number lines.
It's Monday again so I'd like you to complete the Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check that I have attached below with this week's spellings. You can find the spelling on our class page as usual or on our Home Learning for Thursday 19th November.
This term in Science we are doing States of Matter. We have already started learning about solids, liquids and gases and their properties. Follow the link and read the information. There are some videos for you to watch and a sorting activity to complete. If you have a grown up available, you could also complete the second activity which involves heating and cooling water. Draw a picture to show what has happened. If you don't have someone to help, don't worry - we will be doing more on this in school!
6) PE with Joe!
Time to get moving! Follow the link and scroll down to choose a session to complete at home.
