ID: 993 9339 4060
Passcode: Sycamore
English Activities:
1) Write a snowy description
Look out of a window and tell someone what you can see. Draw a picture and add some adjectives. Then write some sentences describing the scene.
2) Write hot chocolate instructions
Ask a grown up to help you make a tasty hot chocolate or another nice drink or simple meal. Then write some instructions, telling someone else how to make the same thing. Remember to tell them what equipment and ingredients they will need.
3) Write a snowy story
You can write a story about anything at all, but if you need some inspiration, use this picture at your setting...
4) Write a Winter acrostic poem
Chose a word like winter or snowman and write it down the side of a piece of paper. Then write a poem, starting each line with each of the letters in the word. There is a template below with the word 'Winter' if you would like to use it.
Maths Activities
Choose 3 of the following winter activities to complete:
1) Get creative and make a 3D snowman
2) Challenge yourself to draw the other half of the snowflake
3) Play the Snowman Drive with your family
4) Use your times tables to reveal the mosaic picture
5) Use your mathematical skills to complete the Y3/4 challenge cards
Topic Activities - Mini Snow Topic:
1) Snowy Picture
Create a snowy picture using anything you have at home. It could be a pencil, pencil crayon, felt tip, collage, paint - the choice is yours!
2) Animal Research
Choose an animal that lives in a cold climate like a penguin or snow leopard. Then carry out some research to find out as much as you can about that animal. You could use books or the internet. Think about how you could present the information.
3) Exercise in the snow!
Go sledging, play in the garden or make a snowman. Get some fresh air and enjoy the snow!
4) Snowball Science
Go outside a make a snowball. Then bring it inside (in a bowl or something similar) and make a prediction about how long it will take to melt. You could even make a few snowballs and put each one in a different place - which one will melt the quickest? Why do you think that happened?
