This week the children enjoyed lots of learning about Armistice Day and what it is for. They listened well and and really thought about things when looking at a presentation, watching a few videos. The Cbeebies rabbit video helped them think about what war would feel like for everyone involved and it stimulated many questions, thoughts and responses from the children. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOT5CDnYHEs
They are brilliant at understanding their feelinga nd emotions and articulating them.
We visited St James' Church to look at the centotaph and we looked at lots of the soldiers names. This provoked many children to draw pictures of the soldiers and write to them on our return to class.
All of the children painted wonderful poppies and then used their phonics to label them.
