This week we have enjoyed learng about the Hindu Festival of Diwali. The children enjoyed lots of hands on activities including making diya lamps, rangoli patterns to welcome Lakshmi , the Goddess of Wealth in to our classroom, Diwali cards, leanring Indian dancing and making Indian Flat bread.
In other learning we have continued practising how to write numbers correctly and how to find 1 less than a number. In Phonics the children have done lots of reading and blending activities as well as learning new sounds. Some children showed how much they have learnt by sounding out and writng ' The Cat is on the mat.' when I dictated the sentence.
