Week 2 Commencing 17.1.22
This week the children's focus was Jack Frost.They enjoyed listening to the story and used it to write about Jack Frost. We were lucky to have many a frosty day this week and we used one of them to go for a walk to the canal and look for signs of Winter. They children were brilliant at finding them.
In Understanding of The World we combined ice and salt to create our own frost on the side of a tin can.
In Expressive Art and Design we learnt abour Wassily Kandinsky and learnt how to mix colours. We used his circles painting to help us. We mixed our own colours and painted a big circle with different shades which we are using to create a Winter Scene.
In Maths the children learnt to combine amounts to 10 and then moved on to looking at the value of each number in 2 digit numbers. They were so good they even learnt how to partition numbers and understand the value of the tens and units!!!! WOW !!
