Buxworth Primary School's commitment to anti-bullying

At Buxworth Primary School, we aim to provide a safe, caring and friendly environment for all our pupils. We endeavour to equip pupils with skills that allow them to learn effectively, improve their life chances and achieve their full potential. We expect pupils to feel safe in and out of school, and have an understanding of issues relating to safety, including how to tackle bullying.

This academic year, we are working together to achieve the Derbyshire STOP Anti-Bullying Award for excellence in identifying, preventing and responding to bullying. Already, we have carried out two whole-school activities to educate pupils in anti-bullying techniques, encourage positive behaviour and promote friendship throughout the school. In addition, the children have produced anti-bullying posters and are volunteering as playground friends . Every class participated in activities to support Anti-Bullying Week. Have a look on the gallery page to see the children’s fantastic work. It shows we are a school against bullying.
